Who We Are…
We are C. Michael (Mike), Amy Lyn, Gavin Michael, and Aidan Joseph Pilato. We hail from Harrisburg, North Carolina, a small but rapidly growing community just outside of Charlotte.
Mike is into computer-ish things. He works for the Bay-area company CollabNet, where he leads the Version Control team. Mike is one of the primary developers of Subversion (an open-source version control tool), the core maintainer of ViewVC (a web-based version control repository browser), and co-author of Version Control with Subversion (2004, O'Reilly Media). Mike enjoys writing and recording music, graphic and website design, video editing, photography, and countless other activities for which he, in all honesty, really doesn't have time.
Amy is a full-time wife and mother. She spends her days taking care of Gavin and Aidan. In her free time, she enjoys reading, playing board games, stamping/scrapbooking, and checking her Weather Watcher taskbar icon every ten minutes or so. And sometimes, when Mike is fortunate enough, Amy lends her incredible vocal talents to his musical dabblings. When something memorable happens, Amy often thinks, "I ought to ThotKeeper that!" (ThotKeeper is the daily journal program Mike wrote for her.) But as a rule, she's too busy making memories to actually record them.
Gavin (5) and Aidan (3) are our "little monsters". Both love to sing (and have fairly true voices), planes/trains/automobiles, climbing trees in our back yard, and aggravating each other. Gavin routinely reads books written for children nearly twice his age, and even Aidan is "sounding out" simple words.
The Pilatos are active members of Plaza Baptist Church, where Mike and Amy serve in musical and technical capacities, on various committee and ministry positions, and (as of recently) as Youth Sunday School teachers.
